PRODUCTION STUDIO
SETUP GUIDE
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
There's a couple of things you will need to do before your first visit if using your own laptop.
You will need to download the drivers for our audio interface so you get sound from your laptop to our speakers.
Before downloading the drivers you must check if you have McAfee antivirus on your laptop. This is sometimes pre-installed on your laptop so you may not be aware you have it. If you install the required drivers it will cause your laptop to crash.
McAfee can't be uninstalled by normal method. It will continue to reinstall itself. You can download the special tool from Focusrite at the link below. Download this and run it to remove the McAfee software causing the issue. More information on this is available on the Focusrite website.
Now you can safely install the interface drivers. If you don't have McAfee antivirus you can skip to this step.
WHEN YOU ARE IN THE STUDIO
There are two cables to connect to your laptop. The first is the USB cable which will get sound through our speakers. If you have already followed above steps it should automatically link .
There are just a coupe of settings to change if using Ableton on a Windows laptop.
1. On the menu at the top left of your screen choose OPTIONS then SETINGS
2. In the new Window choose AUDIO
3. Set the driver type to ASIO
4. Set the device type to FOCUSRITE USB ASIO
That should be your audio set up and coming through the studio speakers.
You can now connect your laptop to the screen.
You will find an HDMI cable in the panel on the left of the desk. Plug this into your laptop HDMI slot. There is an adapter if your laptop only has USB-C.
You will need to change the input settings on the screen. There are five buttons on the back of the screen to the bottom right.
Press the middle of the 5 buttons. A menu will pop up. Press the middle button again. Now press the top button until HDMI 1 is selected. Press the middle button and your laptop screen should now show on the monitor.
